About Montgomery Bat Removal

Welcome to montgomerybat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Montgomery, Alabama. We are a bat removal company - not a bat extermination company! Our techniques do not harm or injure bats because we fully grasp their importance in the ecosystem. From eating millions of insects every night to pollinating several crops, bats are very crucial for maintaining environmental balance. Despite all their benefits, having bats in your attic or house is not a good idea. If they roost in your attic, you may have to deal with bat guano, rabies, diseases, and damage to your insulation. The only solution is to ensure they remain in the wild. Our job is to achieve that. For over the past two decades, we have helped thousands of clients handle their bat infestation problem with humane tactics. We NEVER use poison, and we try not to use traps as it may damage their delicate wings. The most effective method is the use of an exclusion device to prevent them from accessing your attic after they voluntarily leave. However, exclusion devices must be installed at the right time - in particular, when the pups are old enough to fly out of the attic. If not, you risk separating mother bats from their babies, and this has several unintended consequences. That's why bat removal requires special knowledge. Our technicians are well-trained and vastly experienced in locating roost inside homes, as well as entry holes. They also have the know-how required to effectively and humanely get rid of bats from your building. What's more, we will carry out full repair and decontamination of the affected space once we're done. We pride ourselves on what we do, and we're always happy to be of help.  We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 334-679-1900 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

What Are Ways A Bat Can Communicate?

Echolocation is the word of the day. Most people have heard the term in relation to bat communication. Echolocation is basically the process of building a picture with sound waves. Bats use it to map out their surroundings and locate object in their environment.

Echolocation helps bats determine the size, shape and distance of the objects around them. They emit high-frequency noises and interpret the pulses that come back to them to generate a picture built by sound waves.

Some bats emit these pulses through their nose while others make clicking sounds with their mouths. A bat's physical abilities are developed specifically according to their needs. For instance, bats that emit echolocation pulses through their mouths make clicking sounds with their larynx. The species who emit these pulses through their nose have specially developed attributes in their nasal cavities.

The thing is that these echolocation pulses are created at such a high frequency that the human ear can't pick them up. We can use equipment to turn these high-frequency sounds into ultrasonic sound waves. This machinery is called a bat detector and it makes their sounds audible to the human ear.

This type of machinery aids in the study and research of bats and their habits. There is still much to be learned about this mysterious animal that is so important to our delicate ecosystem.

Bats tend to use echolocation more for navigating and hunting than for communicating. Many people erroneously believe that bats communicate through echolocation pulses, but research shows this to be untrue.

Vocal Animals

Bats are actually one of the most vocal animals aside from humans. They tend to live in large groups called colonies and they do have techniques for communicating with each other.

Bats emit a variety of chirps, clicks and songs to communicate with one another. Bats are very vocal but humans can't hear most of the sounds they make.

Their communication tendencies have often been compared to that of the songbird. Like their echolocation pulses, most are too high-pitched to be detected by the human ear.

The sounds bats use to communicate with each other are hyper-personalized within their group. For instance, female bats communicating with other females will sound differently than two groups of male bats engaged in communication.

When males and females are communicating with each other within a group, it will also be different. A bat's sensitive ears can pick up even the smallest deviation in frequency. In fact, a bat mother can single out the sound of her own young in a group of one hundred bats or more.
